This book, "I have Cancer and I've never felt better!", is a fascinating read. I thought it would be a basic book about surviving cancer. I was wrong. It was a heartfelt and informative book , yes, but it was impossible to put down. I simply needed to know what was going to happen next. When the author talked about her experience with the many doctors, i wanted to scream at them and when she wrote about her experience with long distance bike races, i wanted to cheer her on. I too , have had to deal with cancer, hypoglycemia and asthma but it is hard to explain to others what those experiences are truly like to live with. The author did a wonderful job of describing her feelings as well as her frustrations. I will be sharing the name of this book with my many friends and family living with cancer or care-giving a cancer patient.Product details

I'll admit that I was slightly hesitant to start this book on vacation. I was looking for something interesting that would keep my attention, and I wasn't sure a book about cancer was good cruise reading. I was wrong. I could not put this book down.
Written with candor and humor, "I Have Cancer. And I've Never Felt Better" was equally intriguing and and informative. This is Tracy's story of her long journey to diagnosis and ultimate good health, despite having incurable cancer. It is also a cautionary tale that we are each ultimately responsible for being our own healthcare advocate. Most of all, it is a positive and uplifting book about the amazing power that diet, exercise, and positive attitude can have on one's health.
This is a very enlightening book for both health care consumers and providers alike!
I enjoyed your book very much. At times I spoke out and said this is me! My cancer was in the same area, same year 2007. I go to Ohio State University, a the James Cancer Center. I love my doctor,she is wonderful,and she also will not do Sandi shots. She spoke at a conference,saying they do not slow the growth of our Liver tumors. I did have a liver resection, last July, just had scans and all is doing well. I recommend this book to others that I know that is fighting Our Cancer. Thank you, a friend and I hope all goes great gout, just as you said, one day at a time,live,love,and laugh. Take care and enjoy your life. I am doing the dame eff cancer....
I can relate to I have cancer. And I've never felt better!. I can't say I've never felt better, but I'm still here. I've been in remission from stage IIIB/IV NSCLC for 4 years and went through many of the same issues. I was lucky to get into Moffitt from the beginning so didn't have to shuffle docs until I found the right one. I don't share her religious beliefs and think that God played a huge part in my survival. I also had a fairly drastic change in my interests. I am still interested in science/engineering subjects but have acquired an interest in history that was not there previously. I love her attitude and believe it's the attitude we all need to fight the beast. Good luck, God bless and keep the faith...

This is so much more than a story about a woman diagnosed with cancer. It is about a woman living with cancer and THRIVING. It's about music and musical theater and music theory. It's about fitness and biking and pilates. It's about learning to eat well and choosing to live a life in balance.
As someone who lived through the terror of having a loved one diagnosed with cancer, this book taught me something I realized on one level but had never truly articulated we need to be our own medical advocates. We can no longer depend on doctors to have the right answers, nor can we depend on every one of them to have our best interests at heart. We must constantly investigate and learn and question and take notes and speak up for ourselves. And we must be prepared to do so over and over and over and over again.
Allow me to share one more thought I could not put this book down I quite literally started reading it earlier today and just finished it. Eminently readable, extraordinarily engaging, Tracy's story reads like a conversation with an old friend. Even in the midst of moments of gut-clenching fear and brutal honesty, it's filled with humor and love and laughter and - most importantly - hope.
